How To Navigate our new Climate Page
On January 1, 2006, our climate data was re-organized into a new standardized page. All National Weather Service offices will be transitioning to this new format for their climate data. Hopefully this will make it easier to find climate data across the country.

When we switch to our new Climate page, there will be some changes to the menu located on the left-hand side of our web page:

[ Old Menu] The menu on the left has changed to the menu on the right. The only changes will be under the Climate section, where the Local Climate will link to our new Climate page. The extra links in the menu on the left will be found under the Local Data/Records tab (which will addressed in the next section). [ New Menu]

The new Climate page will be organized using tabs across the top of the page. The next section of the How-To page will describe how information will be organized under each of the tabs.

[ New Climate Webpage]

Tab #1 - Observed Weather will contain :

  • Daily Climate reports (CLI) for Atlanta, Athens, Macon and Columbus.
  • Preliminary Climatology Data (CF6) For Atlanta, Athens, Macon and Columbus. These summaries are the Preliminary Local Climatological Data (WS Form F-6) previously found under our F6 Summaries link. Data for each location will contain information for the current month as well as previous months up to 5 years. (Currently this list goes back to December of 2004, data previous to then can be found in the Local Data/Records tab under Past Weather Archives)
  • Record Event Report (Information on weather-related records that have been matched or broken for particular days)
  • Monthly Weather Summary (A monthly compilation of weather statistics for each station)
  • State Summary (Max/Min Temperature and Precip table for Georgia)
To display the product you will:
  • select which product you wish to view
  • Select which location you would like to view the product for
  • Select most recent for latest issuance of product or archived data to select from an archive for that product
  • and click on GO
