The National Weather Service in Peachtree City is now providing "point forecasts", through 7 days. When you provide the specific point on a map, a specific latitude/longitude, or the name of a specific city/town, you will get a text forecast for that specific location. This is different from our familiar "ZONE" forecast that you get on our web site's home page, which is a forecast of expected conditions for an entire county (known as a "zone-averaged" or "county-averaged" forecast). We are also offering two additional related experimental products online...the "Element Forecast Meteorogram" and the "Digital Tabular Forecast".

The Element Forecast Meteorogram graphs the various weather elements you choose for the site you have selected. As an example, look at the current forecast meteorogram for Loganville, Georgia. The information on the meteorogram is specific for that location (latitude/longitude).

The Digital Tabular Forecast is as detailed as the meteorogram, but provides the details in a "matrix" format. Have a look at Loganville's tabular forecast.

You can select the specific site, the elements you want to include, and which of these experimental products you desire from this page. Just look at the pull-down menu, put checks by the elements you would like, and then click on the exact location on the map. You do have the option of inputting the exact latitude/longitude (look just below the map).

Wondering how these forecasts are created? Forecasters from your local National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia use what is called IFPS to create hourly forecasts of sensible weather elements such as sky cover, temperatures, dew point temperatures, wind speed and direction to just name a few.
