A strong Autumn cold front that produced severe weather in Texas on Tuesday,
swept eastward across the Gulf coast states and into Georgia Wednesday morning.
Numerous reports of wind damage were received as the squall line moved through
North and Central Georgia. Wind gusts were measured at 48 mph at Peachtree City, and
at 45 mph at the Atlanta International Airport. In its wake, thousands of Georgians
were without power for at least part of the day. The heavy rains produced minor flooding
along creeks and streams as well as some river flooding.
Summary of all storm reports received. Report on damage in Coweta County.
