The month of June closes with no 90 degree readings in Atlanta - and there were no 90-degree readings in April or May, either. This is unusual. Typically, Atlanta sees 11 days with maximum daily temperatures at- or above 90 degrees by the end of June. In the month of June alone, a 90-degree reading is observed 90 percent of the time.

However, it was only a couple of years ago (2001) that this same thing happened. And it also happened in 1997. Nevertheless, looking back through the entire period of record (126 years), we find a total of only 6 years (including this year) with no 90-degree readings this late in the Spring / Summer Season.
