| Purpose | To bring a heightened awareness to the community on severe weather preparedness and river flooding preparedness. |
| Background | With the approach of our secondary severe weather season across Georgia, the education of the people across the state to the threats
and hazards associated with severe weather and river flooding remain very important. Due to the continued migration of people into the southern sections of the United States, and specifically portions of
Georgia, many people are not prepared for the different types of weather scenarios that can unfold across the local area. As we approach our secondary severe weather season that normally occurs
during November and December, this is both an excellent time, as well as forum, to provide as much information to as many people as possible. |
| Invitation | Please join the National Weather Service and Southeast River Forecast Center staff in making this Open House a great success. We really need
and appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you. |
