Hails and Farewells

Sadly, in April 2006, WFO Lake Charles had to say goodbye to one of its journeyman forecasters, Mark Wiley.  Mark had been a forecaster at the Lake Charles office for over three years, and was an integral part of the aviation weather program at the office.  Mark has now joined the staff at WFO Corpus Christi, Texas, as a journeyman forecaster.  We wish him all the best of luck in the future!

After Mark Wiley’s departure, intern Sam Shamburger was promoted in May 2006 to journeyman forecaster to fill Mark’s vacancy.  Sam has been a member of the WFO Lake Charles staff for nearly two years.  Congratulations, Sam!

In June 2006, WFO Lake Charles welcomed electronics technician John Crawford to the staff.  John comes to us from WFO  Morristown, Tennessee, where he was previously an electronics technician.  Welcome to Lake Charles, John!
