40 Yr Service Award |

| Mrs. Louise Yates of Bismarck, Arkansas has been a cooperative observer for the National Weather
Service (NWS) for 40 years (as of October, 2006). During that time, she took
daily rainfall measurements and phoned them into the NWS. |
 |
For her efforts, Mrs. Yates was honored
with a 40 Year Length of Service Award on October 11, 2006. |

| The NWS is very thankful for observers
like Mrs. Yates. Her rainfall data has been very useful, and has helped
forecasters monitor weather events such as droughts and flash floods
through the years. |
