2001-2002 Florida Dry Season Storm 1
The first and last storm of the season heralded a very inactive season. Lasting from 22 February to 24 February, 2002 the lowest pressure recorded for the Florida grid was 1012.25mb on the 23rd. The only damage recorded around this time was a 58 knot Thunderstorm related wind that broke large tree branches in a spotters yard. CPC maps suggest a Gulf Low and a Gulf almost Southern Jet (for more information about our storm classification see the 14th Symposium on Global Change and Climate Variations American Meteorological Society 83rd Annual Meeting paper).
