National Weather Service Text Product Identifiers Changing on November 9, 2004
Effective November 9, 2004, at 10 am CST...the final, all-encompassing (combined) phase of the NWS Communication Identifier (CID) transition plan will be implemented. The NWS continues to standardize all CIDs to meet NWS and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) CID policies. The CID consists of the WMO heading and the AWIPS identifier.
This transition plan may require users to take action so that they receive NWS text products with the new CID. A full listing of all NWS products requiring change along with additional information can be found at the following web site:
http://www.NWS.noaa.gov/datamgmt/CID.html
Once the page opens, select the "Combined Phase" link to open spreadsheets listing all products...including those requiring change.
Official notices of the CID change taking place were issued at various times through the year and can be found at:
http://www.NWS.noaa.gov/datamgmt/notices.shtml
The list below includes those text products that will be added, changed, deleted, or remain the same, and fall under the responsibility of the NWS Weather Forecast Office in Norman.
