Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Storm Safety

Do you have information on storm shelters

We have links to this information in the "Severe Weather/Disaster Preparedness" section of our Severe Weather Information and Links page.

Where can I find information on flood/hurricane/lightning/tornado safety

For information on "inland" storms, see our Severe Weather Safety Tips link. FEMA has another excellent source of safety information on their Are You Ready? page. Similar information, also from FEMA, is also available in Spanish.

Can I get pamphlets on storm safety? ...for children?

The NWS distributes several pamphlets on storm safety, including hurricane, tornado, lightning, and winter storm preparedness - and a few specifically for children. Contact the NWS Forecast Office that serves your area for more information.
